CoVent Bonds | The conclusion of the project

Tuesday 30 May, at the Auditorium of Confindustria Bergamo, the final event of the first edition of "Legami CoValenti: from school to business and back" was held.

During the morning, six classes presented their work based on experiences with various local companies, including an Apulian institute twinned with the Natta Institute of Bergamo.

After the speech by the vice president of Confindustria Bergamo with responsibility for Education, Mariella Giannattasio, president of the Chimici Group and CEO & CFO of Iterchimica, spoke and, after welcoming her, highlighted the importance that companies have in creating social value on the territory: children are our future and it is essential to create links between businesses and schools.

The first class involved in the project with us is the III AC class ofITI Marconi of Dalmine with the intervention “TOP Technologies of Production”. After talking about the visit to the company on 8 March, the students explored the topic of graphene in depth by also applying it to other projects such as the graphene photoelectrochemical cell and the aluminum and graphene batteries.

The second class, however, the III CCM of theISIS Natta presented the speech “Recyclable Asphalts”. The students, after underlining the importance of recovering old flooring, described the various tests carried out in the laboratories.

Elisa Bertuletti, R&D Director of Iterchimica, commented extremely positively on both works: all the students demonstrated that they had grasped the importance of the themes of recyclability and circular economy, taking inspiration from our example to give life to completely different but which involve the application of graphene.

At the end of the presentations, the school principals also gave their opinion on the experience: they reiterated the importance of the territorial curriculum which is essential for technical institutes because theory is not enough, but it is also necessary to move on to practice , confronting themselves with realities that will actually be the ones where they will then find employment.

We hope that this initiative will be continued by Confindustria in the years to come and that many other local businesses will get involved just as we have done in recent months.
